Light Rail Projects

  • Sydney Light Rail

    Client: Transport for NSW

The CBD and South East Light Rail is a 12 kilometre, 19 stop light rail route, extending from Circular Quay through to Surry Hills then on to Kingsford and Randwick.

The Sydney Light Rail project has transformed the city, connecting, expanding and activating the business and recreation zones of CBD. The pedestrianisation of George St will enable generational change to Sydney’s CBD and has already been an instigator for major private sector development.

  • Newcastle Light Rail

    Client: Transport for NSW

The Newcastle Light Rail (NLR) project is part of the broader $650 million Newcastle Transformation and Transport Program. The Light Rail project is a major urban revitalisation initiative within the program, with Wickham Transport Interchange acting as a major urban transport hub within the city of Newcastle.

The project included 2.7 kilometres of dual track, six stops, a depot and stabling yard and the procurement of six light rail vehicles. NLR successfully opened, on time, for commercial operations in February 2019.

  • Parramatta Light Rail

    Client: Transport for NSW

Parramatta Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via Parramatta CBD and Camellia with dual track spanning 12 kilometres. Once complete, it will connect Parramatta’s CBD and passenger rail to key western Sydney precincts, including Westmead, Parramatta North Growth Centre, Camellia Town Centre, the new Powerhouse Museum and Riverside Theatres, housing at Telopea and Western Sydney University.

  • Canberra Light Rail

    Client: Major Projects Canberra

The Canberra Light Rail project has transformed the Canberra metro region and will deliver a more integrated public transport system.

The first stage of Canberra Light Rail opened in April 2019. The initial 12-kilometre route connects Gungahlin, through Dickson to Canberra city. The planning for Stage 2 of the network is now underway and will extend the Stage 1 route, connecting Canberra North to Commonwealth Park, Parliament House and Woden.
